Duplicate the hp_color_laserjet_mfp_m277dw section in /usr/share/hplip/data/models/models.dat
Rename the section for hp_color_laserjet_mfp_m277dw to hp_colorlaserjet _mfp_m278-m281 (notice the missing “_” in “colorlaserjet”)
Change Model1 to HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw

sudo hp-plugin -i
sudo hp-setup
